He said I also have chronic insomnia and Migraines, I feel like my body is falling apart. They can't seem to find a medication to get me to sleep like a normal person, I lay in bed for 2 to 3 hours before falling asleep and don't stay asleep and then I wake up more tired then when I went to bed. Sandy Medine Fibromyalgia and Meditation

Fibromyalgia and Meditation Friday, December 19, 2008 By: Daniel Lewis MD FMOnline vol. 8, no. 12 Soon after becoming a physician and rheumatologist in 1983, I developed an interest in many of the different traditional mind-body healing practices such as qigong, tai chi, yoga, breathing techniques, hypnosis, and meditation. Initially, this personal inquiry was separate from my professional work. However, you cannot completely separate your personal life from your professional work, and gradu… Continue

brokendamselfly Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy

I went to a pain management Dr a couple of weeks ago. I really liked her and she diagnosed me with diabetic peripheral neuropathy, not arthritis. She said there may be some arthritis, but the main problem is the neuropathy. She bumped up my neurontin to double, which is 1800 mg a day. And I can say my hands and feet are a lot better. They hurt really bad at night but at least it's not excrutiating 24 hrs a day. Oh she also put me on zanaflex twice a day which I am not sure I like. The zanaflex m… Continue

brokendamselfly Weird Dreams and BAD Flare

I have been having some super weird dreams lately that I am in pain or not feeling well. Tuesday night I had the weirdest of all.... I walked in my front door and someone came out of my kitchen saying "oh there you are....blah blah blah" like it was the most natural thing in the world. In my dream she was my great Grandmother, who I never remember meeting. Then on the couch was my Grandmother who passed away Oct 30, 2005. She was holding this spinning wheel, kind of like on Wheel of Fortune, but… Continue

brokendamselfly Starting this blog...

Like most everyone else, I think, I am starting this blog to keep track of my pains and aches and other issues. I went back to the new rheumy yesterday. He is not 100% convinced the problem with my hands and feet and elbows and well my other joints is RA and not just the fibro. I personally have NEVER heard of anyone with pain and swelling in the finger joints and hands and feet and toes etc with fibro. But, he seemed very knowledgable. And he gave me prescriptions for 3 different antiinflammato… Continue

Mary Beth (angelofmusic82) What a Year!: My situation that led the doctors to think I have Fibro.

Hello Everyone! I know this is going to be quite shocking to some of you, but it's taken me alot of courage to write and share this with everyone. Back in 2001, I was just a sophomore in college. The summer before the school year started, I started having quite a bit of pain in my lower back. (For those of you who don't know, I had Scoliosis Surgery in 1995 when I was 13 years old. This was very traumatic for me as I had just lost my grandfather after knee replacement surgery the previous year… Continue
