Husband says we don't have anything in common anymore, is increasingly distant, critical, lacks interest in time with me. I so wish I could be the active, adventurous girl he married, but my lupus has slowed me down for now. Like Christina-I hate losing my life.

Hi my name is joy, just wanted to join because I have been feeling so low lately, I just can't seem to bring myself round I feel so lonely that i cry all the time, I lost my friends when I had to finish work because of my illness, I have two lovely daughters who don't really understand but try, I am shouting at the slightest thing with them and don't know i'm doing it sometimes, which then upsets me more, my youngest daughter who's 9yrs old comes and hugs me and asks me whats wrong why am I crying, I keep saying I'm fine don't worry mummys cry sometimes too, which makes me feel bad.
I just feel no one understands how i feel ,my family thinks that I should pull myself together, I just wish I knew how.
Is there anyone who can help me get through this, my GP is just useless.

I was recently diagnosed with FMS. I've had all kinds of tests done and finally came upon a doctor that knew what I had the minute I started describing my symptoms.
I'm a Correctional Officer, Volunteer Firefighter and EMT... I'm just wondering when I'm going to have to stop all of that. I'm struggling now. My legs gave out on me back in December when I was at the Prison. I fell going up a set of metal stairs and broke my right arm.
I just wonder, what's next?

Comment by Christina Knighton on April 8, 2009 at 12:01am - Hi all, I just feel like my family doesn't understand how hard it is to deal with Lupus and sometimes I feel like no one cares. I know this isn't true because I know my daughters love me. I am divorced and have been on my own for 23 years. Never remarried. I've always been very independent and my health has plummeted in the last year. This is a scary thing. I've always hoped to meet someone, however the right person never came along. I feel like the people at work think I'm a pain in the tush because I miss so much work due to being ill. I feel like they don't believe me and feel very alone at work due to this. It's really not fair to my coworkers. They are a good bunch. I think it's just me. I hate losing my life...... Thanks for the ear. Christina
