BUTTERFLIES AMONG US

LUPUS/Fibromyalgia and more: Support for all

I have had fybromyalgia since I was 11 so thats about 7 yrs. But last yr I had a lump on my right elbow found out it was a rhuematiod nodgle .Which that could mean lupus, rhuematiod arthris or many other differant things. So I went to my fybromyalgia doctor after the lump was removed and she took blood test and all the test said I dont have that arthitis. Well she did a bone scan and it saied have it equallly all threw my body. So she tried me on methotrocate and predisone but they didnt seem to help and pains pills helped some. So she refered me to another doctor to get a 2nd oppion. But he said the bone scan was wrong and that it was just shadows. Because some days I do have symtoms of arthritis but then it seems like my fybromyalgia .And i have never had the swelling or hot spots like you usally get with Rhuematiod arthis. BUT my thinking is y did i get the nodgle then? and y did the bone scan show up that I have athritis? I dont want to have athritis but if i do have it ,, it needs to be treated.I"m thinking about having another bone scan done since the doctor thinks that it was just shadowing . But i dont know wat to do . Anyone got any sujestions?

I would have another scan done and get another opinion. I hope you don't have the arthritis, but like you said it's better to know and be able to treat it.

I think if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck .most likley it is a duck... If you had a nodule and the scan ..go with the doc that says you have it.. cause at least he was treating you..sometimes it takes a long time for the meds to work and sometimes they just dont work,, doesnt mean you dont have the disease..take it from an old lady who has been to many docs and it took me 14 years to get a Lupus diagnosis... Hi Darlene
I'm really sorry you have FM, I know what that's likeI just wish you weren't so young to have started with it ! RA can be such a sneaky thing too.

I've been relying on a whole range of alternative therapies for both conditions for a long time & do not require any medical treatment now, provided I keep up quite a range of supps & herbs. I don't have all of my references on this kcomputer but you can find some over in
http://lupusbutterflies.ning.com/forum/categories/natural-remedies-...

There's a good collection of articles here:
http://www.alive.com/322a1a2.php?subject_bread_cramb=796

and some information here too ` SOME INCLUDES good alternatives too
( it's open, not all moved, but enough) http://msngroup.aimoo.com/APeacefulPlace/ (http://ahealthierplace.aimoo.com/)

http://ahealthierplace.com/tiki-index.php very much under development, but a few bits that might help & always more to come....

Just be persistent & never give up. You really have to be your own best advocate, leave no stone unturned, my dear !

Gentle Hugs
