Lymphoma, or just the lupus???

Hi everyone! I recently saw my doctor who told me my lupus was flaring. But because my doc also noticed a swollen lymph node on my neck and I had some symptoms such as night sweats and itching, I was sent for a CT Scan of the neck, chest, abdomen and pelvis. Results showed several swollen nodes throughout the entire body. I am now referred to an Oncologist/ Hematologist to check for Lymphoma. Does anyone out there have Lymphoma and Lupus? Or had these symptoms, but it was just lupus? I will be having a biopsy very soon to find out for sure. Any information from anyone would be greatly appreciated!!! thanks

Well, today I got my results... no lymphoma, no signs of cancer, YAY!! Peace of mind, finally!! It is all due to the lupus flare I am having and treatment will be discussed and decided soon. Thanks to all my great friends who shared their thoughts and helped ease my mind during this time... You guys are AWESOME!!! Hope you all are doing well! GOD BLESS YOU!!

Yeah! I am so happy for you. It can be upsetting when doctors say it might be this or that and most of the time...it is nothing...thank goodness. I say this is time for a celerbration with family and friends...a nice get together with dessert and a family game.

Hi Julie
Like you i have just been told by Rheumatologist that I may have lymphoma.
I have inguinal lymphadenopathy confirmed by CT scan, fevers, profuse night sweats, and weigtloss.
Have done extensive bloods and i think next step is biopsy.
How did you end up going with yours???

Hi, I had the same thing happen to me. My lymph gland was on the back of my neck, the doc took it off and tested it for lymphnoma........NEGATIVE for that. It was just a Lupus flare. Thank God for that.

I always have swollen Lymph Nodes all over my body and yes they help. I take the usual meds but after awhile they don't seem to help. Try drinking calming Teas. Mint seems to help me alot. I know green tea is very helpful, but Im not to into the taste of it, lol. So I take my oral meds with hot mint tea and then take a short nap. It really does help. I see that this was written some time ago. I hope you feel better now.

you are so right about the Tea. I drink Tea all the time. It is also good for your heart, even if the doctors say that caffeine is bad for you cause I also have aorta stenosis and the caffeine in the tea keeps my heart stimulated. I have to take alot of meds too for it but tea does help. It also helps the immune system which alot of us here need all the help we can get with the immune system. God Bless. Tina

HI everyone. I am having a cervical lymph node removed on Friday for biopsy. I am surprisingly nervous. I was diagnosed with Lupus 20 years ago. Over the years I have come to expect the unexpected. I have excepted the continuing limitation and changes in my body due to this wonderful disease. Although I know this is a test to "rule out" Lymphoma, it has thrown me for a loop. Sometimes it just feels like--what next?? Reading your postings has helped to relieve some of my fears. It really is comforting to know there are other sharing similar experiences. Catherine, Thank you for replying to this post. I know exactly what you mean about being nervous. I had one on my chest and neck removed, both were negative for lymphoma.... I will say a prayer for you. I have had another episode with this lupus and I think the same thing"what's next". Right now my whole body is so swollen and having a heart problem, the doctor gave me some lasix water pills(twice a day,40mg) and prednisone(20 mg twice a day). after a day of that treatment I am starting to feel a little better, OMG I had been so miserable for the past week. My body never swells this bad, but it is so bad my eye lids are even swollen. I have had 16 surgerys, not all relating to lupus, and sometimes I wonder why I'm still here. I suppose God has plans for me still... anyhow, hang in there and let us know what the doc says..... God Bless you.. Take care... Tina

I have these symptoms too! I had a biopsy done and no lymphoma nearest they can tell with me it's the lupus. I am going nuts with the itching though. My hubby's getting no sleep from me scratching in my sleep lol. I hope this is the case with yours as well.
