Lymphoma, or just the lupus???

Hi everyone! I recently saw my doctor who told me my lupus was flaring. But because my doc also noticed a swollen lymph node on my neck and I had some symptoms such as night sweats and itching, I was sent for a CT Scan of the neck, chest, abdomen and pelvis. Results showed several swollen nodes throughout the entire body. I am now referred to an Oncologist/ Hematologist to check for Lymphoma. Does anyone out there have Lymphoma and Lupus? Or had these symptoms, but it was just lupus? I will be having a biopsy very soon to find out for sure. Any information from anyone would be greatly appreciated!!! thanks

i have swollen lymph nodes all over my body and it is due to inflammation from lupus...i hope this helps ease your mind some

Hey Julie,

I too, had swollen lymph nodes all over my body, and they actually removed one from under my arm (while having a breast lump removed the same day,) and it was from lupus. The lymph nodes seem to swell with lupus and not in just one area, it's usually all over. I hope this helps ease your mind as well!! Good luck, please keep us posted!!

I have the same thing on my right side of my body .. and I have the night sweats and some itching..My Rhuematologist told me it was nonspecific and that it was from the lupus and sjogrens..But I too am worried about it being Lymphoma..so he has got me keeping a diary for 3 weeks on the sweats and itching and will reevaluate me...My lymphnodes are under my right arm,ribs and groin area..also under my earthat are swollen...Hopefully your biopsy will come back neg..Hugs MEl

I have a lump in my cervical cord right on the side of my neck and my doc said is was a lymphnode and if it dont get bigger leave it alone.. so far it hasnt gotten any bigger its a little bigger than a pea but still the same size for years .. everyt doctor ive seen hasnt been worried about it so I guess Im ok for the moment.. Ive been checked for everything from lupus to lekuemia several times and so far they tell me I only have meyloproliphic disorder its a clotting disorder.. I make way too many platlettes and my white count is always high... oh and Im a bleeder and they cant find that either. so I get transfusions and platlettes because mine dont work.. and Im getting IV iron because I cant take the pills... so relax and dont forget to breath ! things could be much worse.... BTW I could glow in the dark with all the scans and exrays too becareful you dont get too many they can cause more problems than you want to handle...... JUST BREATH AND TAKE ONE THING AT A TIME !

Sometimes I think our purpose here on this earth is to train doctors to help others. I get so down because I know exactly what is happening in my body, I study genetics, but the tests they have made, the xrays they take ...... they can't find anything! Makes you feel so angry when your body does not work, the tests they have created say you are fine and you have to get transfusions and platlettes and IV iron !!

For me, I have the list of labels most do on here but not lupus... my niece has that label. I have fibro, cfids and I grow tumors oh and I have a thyroid from ..... well. I have a neck lump just like yours, and I have had 7 up there they HAD to remove. I look like a road map. (one in the brain, too) The one on my right cervical is just sitting there, looks like a marble. They watch it. They have no plans to remove it. But, hey, I look just fine. A few years ago I was having tingling in my face and head, so strong it was like waves that came over me. Scared me to death because my calcium was high anyway.... can't find cause of that either. So, I went to ER in evening freightened. And, the doc said: What is it that makes you think you have something so serious as to come to Emergency ?

Glad I did not have a gun. Its all a money game, an insurance game and a prestige game and unfortunately WE get the blunt of it. But, we look just fine !

hop P.S. that doc found nothing. Next week back home, the Chiropracter showed me on a chart where the nerve impulses were coming from. I got cold. Something I can't do. She showed me how to stop it from happening if it started again, by squeezing on certain muscles in my neck. Go figure !

you are so right about these doctors. I think it is a money game with them too. I have had Lupus for quite some time, fighting it everyday But I also have RSD,Reflex sympathetic Dystrophy which is just as bad(and I don't own a gun for that reason). What I am trying to say is this: I have had the numbness and tingling so bad that I thought I was having a stroke but the doctors said it was all coming about from the RSD. I very seldom have a good day and if I get one, I try to really enjoy it, just can't push myself too much or I will spend the next 3 or 4 days in bed. My advice is have the doctors to run some tests on you for RSD because you can also get this with Lupus along with RA.

I had one in my neck swell so bad they removed it it was fine. It is scary I will keep you in my prayer.

Thank you again for helping me to relax a bit, it does help! I have to wait until April 15 for my appointment with the Oncologist, and from there, probably at least another week to get the results back, UGH! the waiting is the worst part!!! I know it could be worse. And I figure this... If I've made it through lupus for 11 years, I can make it through anything at this point!!!!! :)

Thanks for the prayers! Surgery has been moved to April 30. They have decided to do an excisional biopsy. Want to remove the whole lymph node under my arm. Therefore, I will be somewhat put 'under' for this. Still more waiting, but peace of mind to come!!!
