BUTTERFLIES AMONG US

LUPUS/Fibromyalgia and more: Support for all

I was wondering something. I don't like taking the close parking spots when I feel good. When I am sore, I get the closest one to the door I can find. Since I don't hurt "all" the time, do you think I can still get a handicap tag? Just for the days I dont feel well.

Sure, just don't use it all the time. I only use mine on bad days, but if I'm feeling good I'll park anywhere else and walk.

Hi

Actually due to the level of my progression i guess - I often use a cane and sometimes even a wheel chair as needed so on those days - for sure I use my blue tag and my doctor offered it to me. The joints can get real difficult like knees and stuff - even if you're not using a cane/w-chair. Your doctor will probably go over the symptoms but the form from the DMV says what it wants from the doctor.

I've had my blue tag for years and it's been a real life saver when someone in a ferrari isn't RUNNING in and out and using the only blue tag space to feather dust their car (since it's so nice and large and no one would get close enough to scratch their paint i guess.).... true story!

There is very little enforcement!

Take care!

Get one. I hurt all the time but I only use it when I'm hurting real bad. I even have the actual handicap plates on my cars because the plastic one you put on the mirror is such a pain.

I have a tag to and my dr. offered it as well. In Houston they steal your plates that are handicap plates and they also break into your car and steal the one that hangs on the mirror. I chose the mirror one because I felt it would be harder for them to remove than the plates and when I am going somewhere with someone I take it with me then to use too. The plates are more money anyhow! Also if u have the plates u are like advertising to the crimianals out there and u could be follow home as well...easy targeted! Just sharing because I care and want u to be safe!

Thank you all for your input. I think the next time I see my Dr I will ask him about it. Thanks again!
